Learning is very important to us. Books are great for learning. Therefore, in order to stay at the forefront of design, technology, business and a variety of other topics, we spend a lot of time reading.
Here are our favourite books:
Lean UX
by Jeff Gothelf
The bible for modern digital product design. Geoff describes a process inspired by the Lean Startup business principles, that focuses on involving the user at every stage of digital product development in order to maximise the effectiveness of the product and minimize wasted time and resources spent on building the wrong thing.
The lean startup
by Eric Ries
The Lean Startup changed the way modern businesses are created. Eric discusses the importance of learning as fast as possible through the use of Minimum Viable Products – the fastest thing that you can build in order to learn from your customers about your product.
Start with why
by Simon Sinek
Simon Sinek’s “Start with Why” TED talk is (at the time of writing) the second most viewed TED video ever. In his talk, and the book that he bases his talk on, Simon discusses the reasons for loyalty, trust, and leadership. It’s a great way to get you thinking about how you could inspire others to invest their time, money or energy in what you’re doing. Plus Simon’s charismatic presentation style is great fun to watch!
Zero to one
by Peter Theil
Peter discusses the importance of being first, having a “10x” product, and owning proprietary technologies as key components of building a monopolistic business. He also covers many points that are important to know when founding a startup or building a new business.
